Headquarters Canada
Bay SES is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers from all walks
of life who all live locally in the Canada Bay
area. The officers of the
unit are your key contacts if you require any assistance.
Headquarters
provide a lot of the support work within the unit. They manage the
tasks assigned to the rescue teams which go out and do the jobs for
example tarp the roof or cut down the branches. Headquarters however
is more than just answering phones and assigning tasks. They are
also track where teams a located, ensure the welfare of the teams by
providing meals or making provisions so that teams can get a meal at
some point.

Officer
David
has served for 5 years in the SES. Recently appointed as
Deputy Local Controller having been a team leader for 4
years. He has been involved in a number of operations from
Ashfield/Leichhardt through to the Blue Mountains, as well
assisting in operations in other divisions.
David joined the SES after being asked to assist in the
looking for a missing person during a canyoning trip 5 years
ago. He returned to Sydney and joined up within weeks.

Robert
Hoyles
Operations
Officer
Rob has served for 3
¾ years in the SES since November 2001, and is our Operations Officer. He first joined as a rescue member, before moving into the Operations section.
Outside of the SES, he studies a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Western Sydney, and hopes one day to become a Barrister. He also enjoys pool and snooker, reading and movies, as well as playing piano and lives in the Canada Bay area.

Bill
Hoyles, OAM, JP, MAIES
Unit
Media Officer & Community Education Officer
Bill has served for 6
½ years in the SES and his prestigious awards
include The Medal
of the Order of Australia (OAM) and The
Director General's Commendation for media work. Bill
is also a Member of Australian Institute of Emergency Services (AIES).
Bill
Works as the Manager of a Large Charity in
Sydney
and lives in the Canada Bay area.
