What
does rescue do?
Rescue members undertake training in a number of skills. These include:
- First
Aid, General Rescue
- Storm and
Water Damage
- Land
Search
- Map Reading
- Flood
Boat operations etc...
The Rescue Section currently has about 20 members. These members are the ones called out to assist the community.
The unit is broken up into two sections, headquarters and rescue. These sections have their own roles to play in the unit. Particularly during larger emergencies and where teams may be out on jobs for prolonged periods or where there are a large number of calls for assistance coming into the unit.
The rescue
section is essentially the people who go out and attend to the
public’s request for assistance. This is mostly in the middle of
the night and pouring rain and wind.
